From biblical interpretation to the meaning of Christian suffering, Foundations of the New Testament offers you the essential tools and insights needed for a Catholic understanding of the Gospels. From Jesus’s miracles to the gift of the Eucharist, and the confession of St. Peter to the teaching of St. Paul, we can learn how to transform our lives from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God. While we can only dip beneath the great depth of Sacred Scripture and begin to sample the scholarship that has been devoted to it, this course will lay a strong foundation for further study and prayerful reading of God’s Word.
  • What sets the Bible apart from all other texts and how to interpret Scripture
  • How the miracles of Christ reveal His character, mission, and purpose
  • How Christ fulfills the Old Testament sacrificial tradition through the Last Supper and Crucifixion
  • How St. Paul teaches us the redemptive value of human suffering
